Eight ayahuasca ceremonies and three San Pedro days in Pucallpa, Peru — fifteen days of dieta followed by six days of integration, rather than a flight home the morning after the last ceremony.
The twenty-one day program exists because some teacher plants are not dietable in fifteen days. Chiric Sanango, Noya Rao and deeper multi-plant work are traditionally understood to reveal themselves gradually — several ceremonies and many quiet days before the teaching becomes clear.
It runs in the jungle of a Shipibo community, on protected land the community has given to Guillermo López of our team. Twelve participants at most, in private bungalows or nature-based accommodation.
This is not a first dieta. If you have never done one, the fifteen-day program is the honest starting point, and we will say so.
The first stage — adjusting to the food, the silence, the isolation — is given room to unfold instead of being rushed through.
The more complex teacher plants are traditionally understood to reveal themselves gradually. Several ceremonies and many quiet days are usually needed before the teaching lands.
With more days between ceremonies there is space to sit with what surfaced before the next one arrives.
A gradual reintroduction to food and ordinary rhythm before departure, which makes the return to daily life far less abrupt.
Dieta food, isolation and silence, and six ceremonies — five ayahuasca, two San Pedro — closing with the final ceremony of the dieta itself on day fifteen.
Rather than leaving immediately, you stay for six further days of integration and healing practice, including three more ceremonies: two ayahuasca and one San Pedro.
Ayahuasca ceremonies are frequently held on consecutive nights, followed by rest and personal process, with San Pedro days in daylight in between.
Chiric Sanango, Noya Rao, Bobinsana, Ajo Sacha or Chuchuwasi. Participants working with the more complex teacher plants are the reason this program is longer.
Daily ingestion of the plant, plant baths, sopladas, and guidance adjusted as your process unfolds.
Post-dieta guidelines run at minimum two weeks for food and substances and one month for sexual activity — and we recommend extending both, given the depth of the plants worked with here.
Because this dieta is longer and more demanding, preparation starts two weeks before arrival. No alcohol for two weeks. No pork. No sexual activity for at least forty-eight hours before you arrive. Certain medications have to be stopped first.
You cannot attend while taking antidepressants, antipsychotics, ADHD medication, sleep medication or anxiolytics. Detailed medical guidelines come individually during the application, because coming off some of these safely takes time and a doctor.
Every place goes through a conversation first. If this is your first dieta we will point you at the shorter program instead — that is not a sales technique, it is what the tradition asks.
